Leadership Summit and Lobby Day (LSLD) is an annual event where ACS CAN volunteers from across the nation convene in Washington DC to lobby for the support of pivotal cancer bills. This year, a record number of young leaders were invited to LSLD and used their experience to contribute in the fight against cancer! Watch our vlog to learn more!
Cancer Action Day is the one day a year when ACS CAN brings volunteers from across the state to Sacramento to meet with their state legislators to build support for our priority bills. This year, our team was able to work on bills to fully fund the California Cancer Registry, ensure oral chemo parity and improve access to biomarker testing.
For the first time, ACS CAN held a “Young Leaders Summit” inviting young leaders from 18-35 years old to engage a demographic long underrepresented and underutilized within the organization. Hosted in Chicago, members from the California Emerging Leaders Council were honored to be invited and participate—presenting at affinity group strategy sessions and hosting a conference-wide listening session with the President and Vice President of ACS CAN!
