Mental Health and Cancer

Cancer affects not just the body but also the mind, as the diagnosis and treatment process often lead to significant psychological and emotional distress. Addressing mental health alongside cancer care ensures a more comprehensive approach to well-being, recognizing that emotional resilience is as crucial as physical treatment.

Cancer also doesn’t just affect patients; it affects entire families, especially youth caregivers who may feel isolated or overwhelmed. Similarly, young people face unique challenges with mental health, including stigma and lack of access to resources. Combining advocacy for both ensures no one is left behind.
